Work packages:

Work Package 1: Disease onset estimation in inherited retinal dystrophies (IRD) using an epidemiological approach, comparing age of typical visula onset and clinical signs in a variety of IRD for early diagnosis.

Work Package 2: Evaluation of quality of life perception in patients with retinitis pigmentosa.

Work Package 3: The study of natural disease progression and prognosis of inherited retinal dystrophies.

Work Package 4: Improvement of Ophthabase, a generic extensible web-based patient registry system, with respect to design and usability as well as safety issues.

Work Package 5: Comparison of prevalence and incidence rates of eye diseases in Europe, studying risk factors of eye diseases in order to enable new preventive and treatment measures.
